Protect Yourself from Fraud and Scams
First Things First.... If it sounds too good to be true it usually is!
|
Keep in mind most scams involve one or more of the following:
- Inquiry from someone far away, often in another country
- Western Union, Money Gram, cashier's check, money order, shipping, escrow service, or a "guarantee"
- Refusal to meet face-to-face before consumating transaction
- The "JobZone" is not involved in any job offer.
Protect Yourself:
- Never give out financial information. (bank account info, Social Security Number, etc.)
- Do not submit to credit checks or background checks until you have met the interviewer in person.
- Scammers use fake cashier checks and money orders. Banks will cash them and then hold you responsible.
