   Director of Sales & Operations. Longfellows is currently seeking a hard working, dedicated sales and operations professional to lead our busy sales team. Longfellows specializes in extraordinary events both in house and off premise. The successful candidate for this position will function as the strategic business leader of the Sales Department.  The Director of Sales & Operations ensures the team meets target customer needs, ensures associate satisfaction, focuses on growing revenues and maximizes the financial performance of the sales department.  As a member of management, develops and implements center-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet and exceed the needs and expectations of Longfellows, target customer and property associates and provides a return on investment.   Responsibilities: Supervises and works with all banquet sales and operations staff to ensure flawless events. Participates in banquet sales presentations, property tours and customer meetings. Oversees all phases of the banquet department, included, but not limited to, planning, staffing, servicing and administrative procedures. Takes a direct roll in selling Longfellows hotel rooms/meetings to corporate clients by establishing and fostering relationships. Responsible for developing a management team to oversee daily banquet operations. Oversees successful operations of banquet functions including labor, cost control, preparation, transportation, setup, operation and clean-up of all levels. To hire, train and schedule all sales managers, banquet staff and banquet managers and is actively involved in the development of existing banquet staff service techniques To ensure compliance with policies, procedures, guidelines and standards in maintaining effective customer support and meeting financial goals and budget. Previous off premise catering and banquet experience required, must be able to multi-task Interacts and maintains effective client and customer relations The Director of Sales & Operations must work proactively with the management team to develop annual forecast for the banquet department. Must be able to manage a team, providing on-going training opportunities, mentoring and leadership to enhance each Banquet Manager's customer relationship skills, sales increases and banquet development, and to create a positive working environment. Qualifications: Prior experience in Hotel & Banquet Sales and Operations A minimum of 5 years industry & management experience is required. Ability to manage in a fast-paced, diverse environment with focus on client and customer service, entrepreneurship and building and growing a strong business is essential. Knowledge of and experience with selling, planning and executing special events is required. Candidate must be willing to be hands on with staff and operations and be willing to work event-based hours that will include evenings, weekends and holidays! Salary plus sales based commissions.
