   PROGRAM: Kaydeross House JOB TITLE: Part Time Morning Counselor MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma and experience providing structure and supervision to SED/At Risk Youth • Applicants with an Associate’s Degree or better will receive priority • A vehicle, valid NY State Driver's License, and a driving record acceptable to the TSA automotive program are required. Must be willing and able to safely perform driving responsibilities as assigned. • Computer proficiency required PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS: The Morning Counselor must be understanding of the needs of sensitive populations and their families, possess excellent organizational and time management skills, be empathetic, and have good professional boundaries and follow through. Must be able to work well independently, as part of a team, and make effective use of supervision. Must subscribe to strict standards of professional ethics and demonstrate ability to structure and nurture in compatible ways. SCOPE: Assist in the implementation and management of the daily operations of the residential program. Manage group behavior and individual counseling as assigned. The Morning Counselor reports directly to the Program Director and is supervised jointly by the Program Director and the Program Supervisor. JOB DESCRIPTION: The Morning Counselor will have a broad range of duties including, but not limited to, the following: • Supervise all group home residents during work hours. • Contribute to a safe and supportive therapeutic environment. • Participate in any and all activities designed by staff as a team. • Adhere to all structural program expectations including house rules and daily routines. • Perform certain aspects of maintenance of the house, which may include housekeeping, heavy lifting and other physical exertion as required. • Function as a positive role model for residents. • Communicate effectively with residents, their families, staff members, and community organizations. • Strive for personal and professional growth. • Participate in all required staff meetings (minimum weekly). • Document any and all significant events and fulfill all general record keeping responsibilities which include writing progress notes, incident reports, resident log and staff logs, UCR’s, etc.). • Perform clerical duties including but not limited to answering phones, appointment setting, and filing. • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director or Program Supervisor
