Complete Description of the Job.
   The Title IX Deputy Coordinator for Student Affairs is responsible for conducting and overseeing the complaint and resolution process, including investigation of potential violations of sexual and gender based misconduct involving students. The Deputy Coordinator will also work with the College’s Title IX Coordinator to ensure compliance including training, education, communication, and the administration of grievance procedures for students. This position also assists the Title IX Coordinator in carrying out the other Title IX /VAWAresponse and prevention responsibilities for the College such as data collection, trend analysis, and community outreach. The Deputy Title IX Coordinator must be able to work independently and will report to the Dean of Students/VP for Student Affairs. In carrying out these responsibilities, the Title IX Deputy Coordinator will work closely with the Title IX Coordinator, the Vice President for Student Affairs, Human Resources, the Associate Dean of the Faculty, and other relevant offices and departments. Master’s degree in psychology, criminal justice, student affairs, or related fields is required with 2-5 years’ of experience. The candidate must have experience conducting interviews or investigations and will work with the Title IX Coordinator revising policies, overseeing compliance efforts, developing and delivering prevention education programs and training. Prior experience working on compliance with Title IX & VAWA regulatory requirements in higher education environment highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to exercise high levels of discretion and good judgment, and the ability to quickly establish credibility with a broad range of constituents, including students, faculty, staff and others. Must be willing to participate in a variety of meetings, forums, and events, which may occur at various points throughout the day, as well as weekends and in the evening. Knowledge of the dynamics of interpersonal violence, the impact of trauma interviewing, investigation techniques, and analyses of evidence to determine policy violations is preferred. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
