   The Career Development Center (CDC) at Skidmore College provides access to counseling, programs/events, online resources, networking, internships, and jobs to all current students and alumni in support of their individual career development goals. The CDC is seeking a Staff Assistant to provide administrative support of a responsible and complex nature assisting seven Masters’ level professionals. The Staff Assistant will: • Maintain day-to-day office operations including managing the front desk reception area, examining and answering correspondence, processing and prioritizing office communications, answering telephone and e-mail, scheduling appointments, and managing purchasing of items large and small • Work closely with the Associate Dean to maintain and monitor the CDC budget, with direct responsibility to order, record and verify expenditures, including preparing purchase orders, check requests, and end-of-month credit card audits • Manage the CDC’s main database, Handshake, including insuring the accuracy of student accounts by uploading latest student records from the Registrar’s office, approving employers and jobs, posting internships and jobs, and setting up on-campus interviews • Gather and compile data through Handshake to produce specialized reports and documents • Maintain the CDC’s website including update existing content, create new content, evaluate monthly website analytics report, and coordinate design with the Office of Communications • Assist with supervision and training of front desk student staff • Oversee the administration of the Susan Hirsch Schwartz Award fund • Respond to and/or direct inquiries in person or on the telephone; access and work with other staff to resolve issues from students, alumni and employers • Assist Associate Director of Employer Outreach with on-campus interviews and information sessions • Maintain schedules, calendars, and appointments, including organizing meetings and events (preparing agendas, minutes, equipment, catering, rooms, information packets, and follow-up activities) • Perform complex computer functions including word processing, data collection, analysis of information, and creating visual and graphic presentations • Maintain files, records, receipts, and other office documents
