   PROGRAM: RISE JOB TITLE: RISE Counselor QUALIFICATIONS: • Associate’s Degree in Human Services or a related field and at least 1 years of relevant experience • Clearance with all relevant background checks as per TSA policies and governing regulations • A vehicle, valid NY State Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the TSA automotive program are required • Proficient in MS Office Suite, EHR software, and able to learn new data platforms PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • CASAC or a CASAC-T • Familiarity with Trauma Informed Care • Experience working in a residential setting • Familiarity with New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) regulations and guidelines • Experience working with individuals with substance abuse or co-occurring disorders PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS: • Be understanding of the needs of sensitive populations and demonstrate empathy • Have well-developed professional boundaries and high ethical standards • Demonstrate excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills • Possess strong crisis management and problem-solving skills • Have an ability to function as a member of team member and work independently SCOPE: Managing a caseload of up 7 residents in the RISE program and RISE support counseling. The RISE Counselor reports to the RISE Program Coordinator JOB DESCRIPTION: The Rise Counselor will have a broad range of duties including, but not limited to, the following: • Meet with assigned residents regularly to address personal and interpersonal functions in areas such as problem solving, crisis management, conflict, personal care and space maintenance, goal planning, medication management, and substance abuse recovery; serve as an advocate for residents • Conduct assessments to determine resident needs and develop, implement, and monitor resident-specific program goal plans • Meet all documentation, notation, and record keeping requirements for the program • Manage the scheduling and coordination of appointments, meetings, and recreational activities for residents • Actively participate in caseload admissions and discharges • Monitor medications with oversight from the RISE Program Coordinator • Participate in weekly RISE Apartment inspections • Provide support service counseling to assigned clients in RISE Support Services • Communicate effectively with residents, their families, staff members, and community organizations • Transport residents as needed and maintain a high standard of vehicle cleanliness and condition • Participate in on-call rotation shared with other program staff • Perform certain aspects of maintenance which may include housekeeping; may involve some heavy lifting as able • Participate in all required staff meetings and trainings • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Agency
