   DEPARTMENT: Facilities REPORTS TO: Facilities Director JOB PURPOSE: Directly responsible for Managing snow making operations and winter operations from September to April. (October to April (7mos)) Agency Expectation of Employee •Adheres to Ranch Policy and Procedures •Acts as a role model within and outside the Ranch •Performs duties as workload necessitates •Maintains a positive and respectful attitude •Communicates regularly with facilities director about the day to day operations of the mountain. •Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload •Consistently reports to work on time prepared to perform duties of position •Meets Department productivity standards Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities •Responsible for knowing and adhering to the policies and procedures contained with the Policies & Procedure Manual, as well as Employee Handbook •Report any acts of maltreatment, neglect, and/or any other violation of policies immediately to supervisor •Maintain a positive working relationship with staff members and volunteers •Oversee and conduct all winter mountain operations, including facilities related tasks. •Attend and participate in operations weekly meetings before a ski weekend or when called for by the director of operations/AWSP director. •Work with all department heads to make the ski program operate well and grow •Coordinate and perform all snow making efforts for the two HH trails •Manage and schedule all part time snow makers during snow making operations •Perform all grooming/limbing for cross country trails (fall) •Maintain and oversee service of the chair lift throughout the season. •Maintain and oversee the annual service of the snow making equipment •Assume chief operator and instructor position of chairlift operations (proper loading and unloading procedures) during the winter program •Manage and schedule weekend lift operators. •With the assistance of ski patrol, be responsible for all safety signs, safety devices, fences and poles associated with the ski program •Schedule and complete state inspection (DOL) for the chair lift and conveyor •Manage the terrain of the ski hills and cross-country trails (including tree removal, trimming and grass mowing) with the help of the facilities department. •Participates on AWSP committees, and or special projects. •Maintains a digital/hardcopy of all mountain maintenance and service logs as per local •Additional Duties and Responsibilities as assigned •Accomplishes all tasks as appropriate •Generate and document preventative maintenance schedules or all AWSP equipment and vehicles. •Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities Qualifications Experience, Education and Licensure 5 years snow making experience Experience in heavy equipment operation Experience in generating and maintaining a budget for the department 5 years’ experience managing ski lifts/personal at a ski resort setting Language Skills •Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents •Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community •Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors Americans with Disability Specifications Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
