   PROGRAM: Progressive Steps Apartment Program JOB TITLE: Single Site Coordinator / Senior Counselor QUALIFICATIONS: • An Associate’s degree in a Human Services related field and at least 1 year relevant experience; other combinations of education and experience considered • Clearance with all relevant background checks as per TSA policies and governing regulations • A vehicle, valid NY State Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the TSA automotive program are required • Proficient in MS Office Suite and able to learn new data platforms PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Familiarity with Trauma Informed Care • Experience providing direct treatment services in a residential apartment setting • Familiarity with New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) regulations and guidelines PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS: • Be understanding of the needs of sensitive populations and demonstrate empathy • Have well-developed professional boundaries and high ethical standards • Demonstrate excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills • Possess strong crisis management and problem-solving skills • Have an ability to function as a member of team member and work independently SCOPE: Working with an assigned caseload of residents in the apartment program and supporting program counselors. The Single Site Coordinator / Senior Counselor reports to the Program Director. JOB DESCRIPTION: • Meet with residents assigned to caseload on a regularly scheduled basis to address issues related to personal and inter-personal functioning in the context of semi-independent apartment living • Work with residents in areas including problem solving, crisis counseling, roommate conflicts and/or family conflicts, care and maintenance of apartment, money management, daily and long-range planning, medication management, and parenting skills • Participate in the resident admission/discharge process as appropriate • Work in conjunction with other staff to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents • Instruct, assist, supervise and monitor activities of daily living in the apartment such as personal hygiene, menu planning, and cooking, and outside the apartment in areas such as banking, laundering, and food shopping • Develop, implement, and monitor resident-specific program plans and likewise work closely with residents to obtain long and short term goals in areas including social, vocational, personal, and daily living • Actively participate in the planning and coordination of structured leisure and recreation activities for program residents • Act as a liaison between the agency, residents, and outside organizations in a professional and appropriate manner; function as a resident advocate • Support other Counselors as requested • Rotate on-call responsibility with other assigned staff • Participate in the orientation of new program staff as requested • Manage apartment inspections, inventory, and other location specific needs • Attend agency meetings, mandatory trainings, and other activities including opportunities for professional development, at the request of the Program Director or Agency • Perform certain aspects of maintenance of the apartment, which may include housekeeping, heavy lifting and other physical exertion as required • Assume additional duties as assigned by Program Director
