   Have you ever thought about what your work legacy is? Does the idea of using your voice, your skills, and your energy to combat domestic violence and sexual assault resonate with you? Wellspring seeks a Communications Director who is self-motivated, has a proven track record, and can bring a strategic vision to develop and implement marketing and outreach programs to support our nonprofit’s mission of ending relationship and sexual abuse. This is a new position combining public relations and digital marketing strategies, with person-to-person relationship building strategies. The Director of Communication’s primary responsibilities are to design, coordinate, and facilitate activities to increase issue and Agency awareness and engage the community in social change efforts designed to prevent abuse from occurring in the first place, by: •Developing a comprehensive marketing outreach plan •Optimizing Wellspring’s website and managing our social media presence to improve Agency reputation, recognition and engage audience •Managing Agency website and day-to-day communications (e.g., social media, email blasts, website) in order to ensure a consistent voice and brand in all external messaging and collateral •Developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive and actionable communications strategy •Working with the leadership team to respond thoughtfully and in real-time to relevant news to help increase awareness about relationship abuse, stigmas, and societal norms •Building relationships with community partners to integrate Wellspring’s prevention and social change programs throughout the community •Overseeing Wellspring’s prevention and social change programs and directly supervising the prevention education team members Do you have? •Exemplary communication, public speaking, presentation, and writing skills with a minimum of 4 years’ of related experience •Strong understanding and insight into digital and online media platforms and trends •Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple, time-sensitive projects •Experience creating public relations materials, media releases, and publications Do you enjoy? •Working in a job that affords new projects and tasks regularly, independence and initiative, and professional growth opportunities •Coordinating with other Agency programs, departments, and inter-disciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of quality services •Developing strategic initiatives to promote community awareness of Agency programs and services •Communicating with the leadership team on a regular basis to assess need and initiate marketing and promotion plans to address identified needs •Regularly evaluating project performance for quality improvement •Supporting a work environment that creates positive communication between supervisors and employees and assimilates new employees to the Agency’s culture, values and mission Qualifications and requirements: •PLEASE submit a cover letter along with any other examples of previous work that might be relevant and helpful •Education and work experience parameters: a bachelor’s degree in a related field and minimum of 4 years of full time experience working in the field of communications •Excellent computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in the use of all Microsoft Office tools, Word Press/website management, various social media platforms, Constant Contact (or similar platform, and database management •Occasional evening or weekend work required •Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record and reliable means of transportation Desired but not required: •Graphic design, video creation, and/or experience with other new innovative marketing and digital media platforms •Experience having worked for a nonprofit •An understanding for the dynamics of domestic violence and relationship abuse and or having worked in the human services field previously
